As a technician I was in charge of providing therapy sessions for children who suffered from autism, which highlighted the use of communication and skills needed to ease their lives. Training included how to deal with their stereotype and maladaptive behaviors so they can become more successful in daily life activities. The skill of multitasking was a main focus, the data entry portion of which lessons were run, and being very open minded to what activities clients would enjoy. Starting off session with the clients, building rapport, and slowly introducing lessons as the session went on. Lessons varied from teaching clients about real life rules, what society deems acceptable, and simple as holding a conversation. The main point of the session was helping the clients push themselves at a steady pace and being very supportive no matter the outcome of each lesson, as well as being very adaptable to situations clients may throw at you.
