Ascension's Data and Insights group deployed an enterprise-wide HIE solution cross multiple market locations. My role was to manage several data-driven projects to support the Healthcare Analytics for Provider and Payer customers. My primary task was to understand how the data would move and how it would be utilized. Meaningful Use, EMR/EHR, Health Information Exchange (HIE), Population Health and how applicable data can be utilized to impact initiatives surrounding those organization challenges.
Other responsibilities included:
(1)Oversee the implementation phase of the project and coordinate between customers vendors and other areas of AIS
(2)Local and regional health information exchange objectives; lead successful implementations campaigns meeting timelines and requirements
(3)Establish connectivity between disparate healthcare it systems
(4)Build interface and assist in endpoint configurations necessary for the exchange of patient and clinical data
(5)Document and test interface solutions
(6)Manage ongoing maintenance needs for sustainable processes and
(7)Monitor HIT compliance with state health systems and primary care practice environments
In this role, I worked with leadership in overseeing day-to-day integration efforts and managing various aspects of HIE operations. Related activities also included system functions, quality standards, security and compliance requirements, implementation support, utilization analysis, and assistance in planning and implementing the architecture for expansion. This engagement required a high level of subject matter expertise in the field of healthcare informatics and data exchange bridging business functional areas and IT solutions; ensuring compliance with best practice.

Supported the deployment and integration of the dbMotion HIE solution within the existing HCA facilities/divisions. Responsibilities included working with the HCAPS Practices within HCA Divisions to integrate with the HIE from their native EMR. Supported Affiliate/HCAPS physician offices that have disparate EMR (Electronic Medical Record) software packages, or no EMR at all, connect securely with HCA HIE using a web-based tool provided by dbMotion Collaborate™. •Coordinated with (6) of the market-leading EMR to include Epic eCW, NextGen Allscripts Meditech Greenway. This effort focused specifically on onboarding and seamless integration of these solutions to the internal HIE, implemented using IHE industry standards/profiles, and determining whether any if all of these solutions would act as source system for data retention and the establishment of the longitude patient medical record.
