My career began with Manulife Insurance Company after UST as a life insurance agent and worked myself up to become District Manager after completing the company’s Agency Building Course. Recruited, selected, developed and managed agents and managers that ultimately became leaders in the company and in the industry as well. Developed and managed a total of 11 Million Dollar Round Table producers.

Designed and implemented the mortgage redemption insurance (MRI) program for all Pag-Ibig members nationwide with Grepalife under Martinez – Lim Development Consultants, Inc. The program was so large that at one point in time Pag-Ibig felt that the total insurance coverage was too large for only one company to undertake. It was then pooled to be distributed to all the local life insurance companies with Grepalife as the lead company.

Executive Vice President and COO for all Middle East operations with First International Representatives and Contractors, Corp. and with Diversified Manpower Services, Inc. I was in charge for all its manpower service and construction projects with Saudi Consolidated Electric Company (SCECO) in both the central and western regions of the Kingdom. We had a total manpower compliment of 2,680 electrical, civil, chemical and communication engineers with regular staff to support all its construction and manpower service requirements and projects.

Vice President for Special Markets with Philippine American Life Insurance Company and its objective was to develop a one-stop-shop for the high-end market. Products were supposed to be bundled to provide the market with life and non-life insurance and investment solutions that would address the market’s needs. The key to its success was to have the various products from the companies within the Philam Group of Companies merge through its in-house IT system and thereby generate products specially designed for individuals, group and/or institutional accounts.

The Vice-Chairman for AIG life operations worldwide, requested I go to Argentina and Uruguay with the possibility of my handling sales and marketing operations for both countries under ALICO, a subsidiary of AIG based in Delaware, USA. It would have been a great career move but the terms and conditions offered were not commensurate to the demands and requirements of the job.

Left corporate life to devote my time as a private consultant conducting sales, marketing and manpower development services for various life insurance companies including the bancassurance division of Grepalife with RCBC which was very successful and The Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Company for its entire retail operation which turned out to be successful as well.
