Created System Design Specification Document based on the Business Requirements Document, which acted as a guideline for the Business Intelligence Project development.

Responsible for delivering BI solution for Financial KPI’s related to Clinics and Nursing. The data sources are related to Workday, T-rex, Scheduler, Master Data Services and home-grown solutions. IDT universe is created for this complex task, which includes some core universes in order not to duplicate the effort which has already been put in the core universes. The universe utilized quite some derived tables which utilized SQL CrossApply function which reduced ETL effort. Complex Web Intelligence (Webi) reports are developed including multi query approach in order to compare various contexts of the data for analysis. The reports have been extremely beneficial in Gap analysis in terms of knowing which nurses have capacity to take more appointments, Some other reports such as Multiple appointments at the same time slot helped in scheduling the same Nurse for multiple appointments, which lead to increasing the profit margins.

The XENEL Industries HR BI Project comprised on the seamless integration between SAP ECC, SAP BW and SAP BusinessObjects

SAP and Non-SAP data from Natpet, XENEL, Safra and only Non-SAP data (in Excel format) from SCC, Hidada and Alujain.

SAP ECC: Created INFOSETS/INFOSET query in SAP ECC and connected to Crystal reports.

The non-SAP (Excel format) data was pulled, at regular intervals, to SAP Business Warehouse (BW).

SAP BW was used to Model and Load the Non SAP data (i.e. Excel Sheets) on scheduled intervals into SAP BW.

SAP BW carried out the Extraction, Transformation & Loading (ETL) process.

Crystal Reports was used to feed data into the Xcelsius using LiveOffice connection. Crystal Reports were based on ECC Tables / Infosets or BW Queries.

All the Xcelsius KPIs were created based on LiveOffice connection.

When user executed/refreshed the Xcelsius Dashboard, the LiveOffice refreshed the underlying Crystal Report which in turn requested fresh data from the underlying database thus forwarding the latest available data to the Dashboard.

Work Done: Conducted Feasibility Analysis, which consisted of studying legacy reports missing from the current system along with user requirement sessions per Data Class to understand the trends that power users look for. A pilot project was done to help in the estimation phase. Then created the project Plan to help in time scheduling, resource management & cost estimation tasks. The project consisted of 15 deliverables as per Data Class. User Acceptance & Feedback sessions followed the implementation of each deliverable. Supervised the design phase of each Universe (Meta Data Layer per Data Class). Incorporated Views / Aliases / Contexts based approach wherever deemed necessary in order to achieve the best performance. Incorporated Synonym based approach in order to achieve schema independent design. Ensured the classes and objects created followed the logical grouping as per User Requirements. Objects were classified as Measure (Semantically dynamic as they could be aggregated), Dimension or detail Objects. Created Hierarchies to help in Drill-down analysis. Quick User Guide, User Manual & System Manuals were created at the end of the project. Users were trained in their related discipline and training exercises created on the relevant Universes instead of utilizing the standard training provided by the vendor which was highly appreciated by the users. Deployment consisted of two modes; the product was installed on the desktop as well as the web-based option.


Scenario: Geologists, Reservoir Engineers & Petroleum Engineers were each having their own legacy database (on Ramis & Db2) and were recording the same even which had to be consolidated as one event & migrated to the Finder System.

Reconciled & Integrated Data into Finder Data Model, sourced from legacy systems such as DB2 & Ramis. Data from complex formats was taken to a staging area so that it does not affect the production environment and time based data loading could be done on the production system. This involved rationalizing inconsistent data values, generating missing data values, correcting and validating erroneous data by reverting back to the Data Technicians, reformatting and normalizing the source data structure in the staging area to make it compatible to Finder data model. The task could be done in 1/10th of the time allocated due to utilizing the extraction, transformation & loading capabilities of SmartDB tool.

Finder Implementation:

Scenario: ADNOC, ADCO, ADMA-OPCO & ZADCO went for a joint implementation & chose FINDER E& P system provided by Geoquest (Schlumberger). The project consisted of consolidating the requirements of the above-mentioned companies.

Involved in providing Specifications related to Exploration & Production Data.

Involved in auditing the data migrated from the legacy systems by the vendor, beta testing the software as delivered by the client.

Banner Student Registration System:

Implemented Client Server based Banner Student Registration System used in HCT colleges all over UAE, which helped in centrally managing all Student Affairs and improved the overall efficiency of the organization apart from time & cost savings. This involved:

Client Server Application Development under Oracle 7.1 running under dual cluster Alpha/ OpenVMS V6.2 (Oracle running in parallel on both VAX nodes) (Mainframe) using Forms 4.0, Reports 2.0, Reports 2.5 & RPT communicating through Sql*Net for TCP/IP V2.0.

Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Implementation of the required modules of a Student Registration System for the eight colleges.

Installation & Configuration of Oracle Server & Tools.

Implemented Database Cloning, utilizing the feature of Oracle to recreate a control file when no backup is available.

Training of Student Registration System staff at the Colleges.
