Histology Technician. Embedding cutting and staining of tissue specimens coming from operating room, endoscopy, and from eight to ten other offices. Immunos and special stains. Gross specimens such as small biopsies, gallbladders, tonsils, appendix. File blocks and slides. Maintain temperature log for lab and morgue freezer. Immunos and special stains. Make cassettes and log specimens in computer via the Pro-Path operating system. I am also familiar with the Co-Path system. Distribute finished slides to doctor. Handle cytology specimens such and FNAs, urine, Thyroid smears. Routine maintenance on all machines in lab such as processor, cover slipper, Ventana Immuno machine and tissue stainer.
