Communications and Public Affairs for the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America Jerry served as the association's principal executive and chief spokesperson responsible for leading public relations, media outreach, brand management, marketing, social media and corporate social responsibility programs. He was charged with leading the communications staff, managing a $1.2M operating budget. WSWA's 300-plus members distribute over 70 percent of all wines and spirits in the United States. With the Society for Human Resource Management, Jerry served as Director of Public Affairs and was responsible for directing the public affairs, media relations, Speakers Bureau and the external PR campaign. Additionally, as director of this nine-person office, he orchestrated the underwriting of CEO Exchange, a $2M a year PBS program; created and launched a $500K annual partnership with CNBC, featuring a suite of programs; redesigned the Society's $2.5M PR/advertising campaign; and created and managed an editorial partnership with two major European business publications, World Finance and European CEO. With Walls Communications, a full-service public relations firm based in Washington, D.C., Jerry provided executive-level communications counsel to the firm's national and international clients.
