Development and Support of the Novius Data Warehouse (NDW) via SQL Server 2008.

2nd Tier on-call support for NDW and scripts on the Olie server. Development as SQL query writing, table creation, stored procedures, scheduled streams and jobs. Several basic SSIS modules to export table data, recently in XML format to export to another department and outside vendors for IPPS, OPPS, HIC Medicare reporting. This data is then used for national comparisons in such media as U.S. News and World Report.

Gather requirements from users and create design documents that help serve in the testing and verification phases of project implementation. Develop queries to project future results and troubleshoot for pre- and post-implementation, and deliver spreadsheets displaying results to users. Develop scripts in WinBatch (ODBC, ADO) to interrogate the data warehouse and format transactions to feed the Siemens Invision system for hospitals and inbound systems that receive clinic data. Created winbatch scripts that extract from an external Oracle datawarehouse using OO40 dynasets method. Highlights include:

Complex queries, table creation, manipulation, extraction and Scheduled Streams and Jobs for high-profile table exports for use by other departments for vendor competitive analysis. Most recently exported data in XML format, including IPPS, OPPS, and HIC files for Medicare.

Work with users to develop automated processes including charity care, transferring charges, bill holds, posting account messages, updating user defined areas.

Creation of stored procedures, tables (including global temp tables), and daily queries in Transact-SQL.

Created a Winbatch Extract Transform Load ( ETL ) process to the data warehouse that handled approximately 3 million records each day.

Devised ODBC common ‘black box’ script to monitor status of some sixty production scripts. This script inserts and updates a common SQL Server table for script status.

Pioneered use of ODBC and ADO calls via Winbatch scripts to the Novius Data Warehouse to format Siemens update transactions.

Created an uber common batching script that runs 17 hours a day, easing development of transaction scripts of staff by thirty percent.

Maintain an inherited FISS Access database with Visual Basic modules that tie into the state Medicare vendor system with mainframe emulation and Visual Basic screen scraping.

Created new winbatch scripts that extract data from an Oracle datawarehouse using OO40 dynasets via the OraDatabase.CreateDynaset method.
