I retired from the position of Transportation Administrative Assistant and Head Start Transportation Supervisor for Berkeley County School District February 17, 2012. During my 30 years with BCSD I served at Goose Creek High School and Berkeley High School before transferring to the District Office in July 1988 as Administrative Assistant for Transportation. The Administrative Assistant for Transportation duties, during my employment, included being department secretary, completing all purchasing for the department, bookkeeping, completing payroll data entry which was then submitted to payroll for the checks to be drafted, handling all Human Resources for the department which had about 350 employees at that time, assisting with employee training and recognition events for the department, issuing permits for field trips and extracurricular activities, submitting all necessary state required forms, while also handling calls from parents and school officials as necessary for the daily operations of the BCSD transportation department. I was assigned the duties of implementing the Headstart Transportation Program for Berkeley County Schools and DD2 Headstart programs which involved communication with drivers, parents and school officials concerning regular and urgent issues.

Skills:

I am trained and proficient with BCSD licensed software as of 2012, including personnel, finance, payroll, GIS, and Microsoft Office Suite,

I was trained with the GIS software and assisted with mapping and school district attendance areas

My personal strength is the ability to communicate with people
