Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, or gutters; patch voids; use saws to cut expansion joints. Leveling and texturizing concrete surfaces are the focal job duties. The finisher checks the concrete forms for appropriate depths and angles before the cement is poured. He removes surface imperfections before the concrete has fully hardened. He must clearly communicate with other contractors to coordinate job stages.
