• Splicing and Terminating 5KV and 15KV Cables
I have experience working in energized gear of different kinds, including new high-voltage switches and transformers which I installed, as well as used and weathered gear. I have high-potted and megged cables from 600v to 15kv cable. I also have experience installing and testing high-voltage switches and transformers, both ground-mounted and aerial applications.
• Experienced at Complicated Wire Pulling Operations I have pulled several miles of different kinds of conductors ranging from 12awg to 5kv and 15kv 500/750 mcm. The majority of my experience has been underground pulling operations, which includes technical rigging using blocks, pulleys, wheels, and numerous tuggers. I have experience using ultra- tuggers, including using them in parallel situations. I have experience using shives in manholes as well as utilizing line trucks for pulling and rigging. I have also done overhead wire pulling over long distances and around angles, such as in cable-tray and on power polls.
• Installation and Maintenance of a variety of HV and LV Duct Banks I have significant experience running all kinds of electrical conduit of all sizes, including P.V.C., E.M.T., as well as bending and threading rigid conduit.
• Experienced with the use of all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including HV PPE I have experience using high-voltage volt meters and hot sticks with the proper and required PPE including high-voltage gloves and Arc suits.
• Experienced at Operating a Bucket Truck while working on and around live lines
