WHY I WOULD BE A GREAT ASSET TO YOUR ORGANIZATION!
I am a seventy-nine year young woman who, at the time of my retirement, had worked thirty-five years in the clerical/secretarial/legal field. I was a loyal and honest employee and brought top clerical skills to each employer over the years and would bring that loyalty and honesty to your organization.
I have retained my typing and shorthand skills through daily use on the computer and use my shorthand on a daily basis for telephone message taking and note-taking. I also write children’s books and use both my typing and shorthand skills in my writing.
I have a zest for life and rise each day with sunshine in my heart even if the sun isn’t shining outside, which is often the case in the Tacoma/Seattle, Washington area.
I remain very professional in every circumstance and believe I would be an asset to your company for the reasons listed above.
WORK HISTORY:
While I have been employed since I was seventeen (17) years old in the clerical/secretarial/legal fields, the final thirteen years of my working career was in the legal field and represents basically what I did for the previous years.
My most lengthy position during my working career was at the law firm of Gavin, Robinson, et al in Yakima, Washington. I was hired in approximately September 1981 and worked there as legal secretary/assistant in Workers Compensation law. The Gavin Law Office has since been closed. I worked for them until October 1993 at which time my husband and I returned to the Seattle area. I worked a short time with the Riecan Law Firm in Tacoma, Washington after which I became employed with Betzendorfer & Granoski in Tacoma, Washington. I was employed by them for approximately a year and a half, at which time I retired from the work force.
If required, I will provide a breakdown of my experience in the work force from 1961 until I began employment in the legal field in 1981.
For those twenty (20) years, I had experience in the insurance claims department of three different insurance companies, worked for a college for approximately two years for the Chairman of the Art Department and worked as a data entry clerk for a company who dealt with the medical field. I was later promoted to Supervisor of the Data Entry Department of that company.
SKILLS:
Keyboard at 85 wpm
Shorthand…I still take shorthand for everything from telephone messages to note-taking.
