9/01 to 6/02. North Bergen Board of Education. School Nurse in urban high school. Responsible for health care of approximately 2500 students and 200 staff.
4/01 to 8/01. Special Child Health Services. Case manager for Early Intervention Program which helps children from birth to age three who are developmentally delayed. Formulated Individual Family Services Plans which determines outcomes and actions to reach them for each individual child. Responsible for coordination of various professionals and agencies to meet the needs of the child and family. Ensured the successful transition of the child from Early Intervention Program to community or school based services at age three.
10/92 to 4/01. Montville Township Board of Education. Personal nurse for student at Norman A. Bleshman School for physically and developmentally disabled children. In charge of meeting the student’s specialized nutritional, respiratory and body alignment needs.
6/87 to 5/92. St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Worked as staff nurse in Postpartum and Normal Newborn Nursery providing routine postpartum and newborn care. Also worked in Intermediate Care Nursery, a step-down unit from the Intensive Care Nursery. Provided care of full-term/premature infants requiring specialized nursing care such as antibiotic therapy, IV therapy, oxygen therapy and NGT feeding.
Research Projects
01/15 to 05/15. Master’s thesis: The Obesity Crisis: Level of Nursing Education and Nutritional Knowledge. Developed a research project designed to assess how level of nursing education correlated with nutrition knowledge. Used a survey administered to undergraduate and graduate nursing students to determine their level of nutrition knowledge.
9/77 to 9/81. Co-principal investigator with George P. Studzinski, MD. Doctoral thesis: DNA-Dependent ATPase Activity from Nucleoli of Human Cultured Fibroblasts.
