Controls Engineer and Consultant
Jan 14 2015 to Feb 16 2016
Participated in three different Controls projects varying from 4 weeks to 5 months utilizing: Factory Transaction Manager, RSView32, RSView Factory Talk Studio, Controllogix, PLC5, Logix500 and SLC500 to create an enterprise solution that provided the machine operator an interactive guided system and management a dashboard providing an easily interpreted presentation of factory information visibility to manage resources, workflow and waste. The HMIs are designed to automatically confirm characteristics of material using barcodes and MS SQL Data upstream up-stream products and workflow to alert the operator of discrepancies or prohibit operation of the machine.
The interfaces provide the operators options, limited to the scope of the current order before engaging in additional processing of the material.
These projects also involved the updating of P&IDs and wiring Diagrams using CAD.
Responsible for the initial development and human factors aspects and design of the HMIs.
Written all the PLC code for the prototype and installations.

Monitored a four-million-dollar budget.
Responsible for the investigation of production issues, tooling, rig issues, general root cause analysis and primary failure mode analysis.
Responsible for group potion of each bid including additional GUI work and system testing.
Responsible for the quality of the delivery as well as insuring that the correct charges are placed against the project.
Spent several years working for the program office and was responsible for the project initiation phase of over 350 customer bids. These project bids involved collecting input from various stakeholders involved in each stage of integration of the hardware as well as the software development or architectural design.
Depending on the size of the project, managed and reported the progress of the project. The project bids ranged from several thousand to two million dollars.
Used lean electronics methods and decreased testing and development budget spending over 1 million yearly.
Implemented software quality system for the verification and validation of software requirements utilizing a disciplined systematic and quantifiable approach.
Managed the preparation of system and software level verification procedures, and the execution of those procedures in preparation for in house factory acceptance testing and customer validation testing.
Scheduled and designed, test plans and documentation for systems and software testing ranging from the simple to extremely complex, focused on display formats and system and subsystem behaviors. This interdisciplinary approach was based on customer needs for increased performance.
