Experience
·Current freelance writer with over hundred articles to my name. As part of this work, I routinely contact editors and pitch ideas based on my own interests or current affairs. Typically, these articles range from 1,000 to 2,000 words, and they are always sufficiently edited and proof-read before submission. Former editor of a Ph.D. dissertation on the topic of environmental justice and Native American populations in both the U.S. and Canada. This position entailed the editing of content (grammar, syntax, overall narrative flow), as well data collection and the proper indexing of sources. The ultimate goal of this project is to produce publishable material on said topic.
Military Experience
•Formerly served as a Petty Officer, Second Class in the rate of Master-At-Arms at Navy Operational Support Center, White River Junction. All Reserve petty officers receive not only non-commissioned officer training, but also job specific training. The Master-At-Arms rate is a law enforcement position. US Navy MAs are responsible for physical security operations, as well as personnel and vehicle inspections, detainee operations, and patrols (both foot and vehicle).
·Joined U.S. Naval Reserve in November 2010. Contract expired in November 2016.
·Currently serving as Navy Operational Support Center, White River Junction’s watchbill coordinator. The watchbill is a record of all watchstanding rotations, as well as a daily log of all occurrences on a Navy installation. Watchbill coordinators are primarily responsible for creating watch rotations and educating sailors on proper watchstanding and emergency procedures.
·President, Junior Enlisted Association. The JEA president is responsible for leading all meetings, as well coordinating all community-related activities in the southern and central Vermont region.
