PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Cloud Computing – Designed and deployed a NIST-compliant Cloud Readiness process to accelerate adoption of highly available, resilient and secure hybrid cloud computing environments (Commercial-cloud ecosystems and private cloud). Designed and deployed a TOGAF-reference architecture process to objectivity evaluate the essential attributes and characteristics of hybrid-cloud computing. (AWS, AZURE, OPENSTACK, Private Cloud)

Corporate Leadership – Provided overall leadership, line-management, and strategic direction for a new ‘High Availability Management Services’ Department within a large EU financial institution. Directly responsible for 285 people in 8 departments during 23 months of intensive consolidation activity. System availability improved to 99.998%, protecting over £38M (~$60M) daily transactions. Realized contribution from my leadership was estimated to be over £350M (~$553M) by executive management.

GRC – Developed a repeatable methodology that economically quantifies operational risk & cost-justifies the return on technology investments that reduce risk. Using this methodology conducted an operational risk assessment and developed a board presentation to justify a $23M investment for a large International Mexican bank to improve the resiliency of the IT infrastructure that reduced expected-loss by more than $90M annually, mitigated regulatory exposures, & minimized the BASEL-requirement for capital reserves.

Revenue/Demand Generation - Generated worldwide demand for infrastructure-resiliency, executed entire solution-sales cycle; launched

several new, innovative service offerings, provided demand generation activities through marketing mix, the sales lead and resource management and provided delivery oversight. Accelerated strong market adoption for innovative service offerings generating $2.8M in consulting revenue and $35M in product revenue-drag during initial roll-out. Exceeded quarterly-quota, Q-o-Q over a 3-year period.

Merger/Consolidation - Developed and implemented a consolidation strategy for a Major European Financial Institution. Successfully integrated eight (8) multi-national data centers into two (2) highly resilient mega-centers in 12 months without compromising service availability, performance or security. Reduced infrastructure operating-expense by 28% (£10M annually), increased productivity by 44% and enabled future economies of scale.

Information Governance & Records Management – Deployed data analytical tools at multiple clients which delivered insights regarding the access and use of structured and unstructured data and to classify the data, prevent security threats, optimize storage, identify PII exposures and reduce regulatory risks.

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) – Served as the Availability Manager for a major Health Insurance Company improving IT service benchmarks in 4 months from 4.9 Sigma to 5.59 Sigma by implementing and enforcing proper management practices. Increased service reliability while reducing monthly hardware maintenance costs by 22%, over $48,000 monthly by implementing effective inventory control and aggressive asset management.

Process Improvement - Transformed this crisis prone operation into a robust Service Center positioning it for greater market penetration re-aligning resources, normalizing operations and increasing service levels from a low of 97.9% to over 99.99% reliability within 4 months.

IT Infrastructure - Developed ten-year reference architecture and strategy for a large NA insurance firm’s IT infrastructure. Identified material weaknesses within the IT infrastructure for a large South African (SA) bank and economically quantified the expected loss to gain board approval for improvements that increased operational availability to 99.998% and reduced material operational exposures.

Business Resilience - Developed the economic justification for the IT investments required to improve the quality of service and reduce material exposures by over $3.8M annually for an Argentine Telecommunications Company.

Operational Risk - Worked with executive management of an international IT Managed Service Provider in Helsinki, Finland to identify service gaps and compliance issues related to the European Programme for Critical Infrastructure and Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) 942 standard for high availability services.
