Title: Research Project on Design, Analysis and simulation of 6 axes Robotic Arm.

Description: The main objective of this project is to Design and Analyze a stationary 6-axis pick and place robotic arm. Our motive is to reduce the risk factor involved physically in this operation. The base is fixed and the remaining joints move in vertical and horizontal directions. Six servo motors were used in this project to perform six degree of freedom (6-DOF). A 3D model of the manipulator was built with a total workspace of 400 mm to carry a maximum payload of 0.2 Kg. The total mass of 6 axis robotic arm is 2149 grams. The material used for links is Al1060 alloy. Available 4 axis robotic arm is taken as references and is modified to six axis robotic arm with an intention to increase the flexibility. The model of robot is established using the solid works software and finite element analysis is done. Payloads and gravity are applied to find out the weak parts, so further design improvement can be done. Links are designed and are analyzed to find out the strains, stress and deformation to avoid failure. Modifications are made to lower arm which has more weight compared to others, with an intention to reduce the weight. The weight of the robotic arm is reduced by 12% by weight without compromising its functionality.
