Facet Technologies, Kennesaw, Georgia 2010 – 2012.

Materials Manager: Responsible for purchasing, inventory control and inventory management, scheduling to production, warehousing, auditing of supplier companies both in the US and overseas. Scheduled and tracked multiple ocean vessels to and from China, Japan and Europe. Negotiated freight contracts for US. Responsible for documentation to meet or exceed FDA regulations related to Operations. Utilized BPCS operating system (Business Planning and Control System) for all transactions related to sales, manufacturing and inventory.

Decreased freight inbound expense in excess of $185,000 by consolidation and strengthening of contracts, reduced errors during transactions and increased efficiencies in warehouse inventory functions resulting in zero down time to the production floor, producing the most positive annual inventory in the history of the company, all within first year at Facet Technologies. Note: Annual inventory was recorded at 99.75% validity against an inventory in excess of $11M.

Planned and managed very successful move of large outside storage facility into Facet’s newly expanded, adjoining warehouse. Move resulted in additional savings in excess of $250,000/year. Accomplished relocation without interruptions to daily work schedules.

Created and streamlined multiple company procedures, initiated training and adherence programs for multiple departments and procedures. Resulted in zero findings against warehouse, purchasing or inventory control from that point forward. These programs were the base for successfully passing numerous audits from technical customers with comments of “great improvements” as well as maintaining outside required certification audits for both ISO and FDA.

Cabinets by Design, Inc., Duluth, Georgia 2006 – 2007.

Operations Manager: $10M custom cabinetry manufacturer. Oversaw all operational functions, including production, schedules, bids, inventory, quality and customer service. Established operational goals and supporting programs and ensured all objectives were met. Identify and implement continuous process improvements for increased productivity and profitability. Led a staff of 75.

Restructured inventory control process, by generating system based inventory on Quicken Books version of ERP, saving $140K annually in material costs. Upon joining Cabinets by Design, assessed operations, identifying need for greater inventory control. Formulated action plan. Hired temporary staff to reorganize inventory control processes. Established database for easier control and management. Reduced bottom line of material costs 12% with no interruptions in workflow in less than sixty days.

Flambeau, Inc., Madison, Georgia 2003 – 2006.

Materials Manager: Managed a staff of 20 with a $12M budget for this $31M provider of design and manufacturing services for plastics industry. Customers included Toyota, GM, Chrysler, Honda, Suzuki and John Deere. Used GUI Charts for all transactions, also utilized KANBAN system provided by various customers to record transactions. Supervised supply chain functions, utilizing Truckload, LTL, and 3PL logistics. Identified, tracked, and maintained optimum inventory levels and turns.

Increased Flambeau’s inventory accuracy to 99.5%, implemented new logistics processes. Inventory validity was inadequate at 57% with rising payroll costs associated with excessive overtime. Analyzed existing processes. Developed new logistics plan. Selected group of employees based on performance to be placed in new roles. Trained staff in new processes. Increased inventory accuracy, reduced overtime and improved productivity.

Communications Test Design, Inc., Tucker, Georgia 1996 – 2002.

Manager of Quality and Logistics, Quality Manager for this $398M telecommunications equipment company. Planned and monitored analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration, ensuring quality standards. Trained 35 staff in quality initiatives. Used Company provided ERP system, interfaced into customers (Verizon, BellSouth and AT&T) via SAP modules provided by customers for transactions related to their products.

Prepared and successfully passed initial ISO registration in only three months. CTDI was in dire need of on-site Quality Manager to prepare for ISO registration due to personnel change. Quickly assessed ISO requirements. Prepared all necessary documentation. Trained employees on question and answering techniques. Passed initial ISO registration and following visits, becoming the only facility out of seven branches with no major discrepancies.

Led design and execution of remote inventory sites for CTDI, reducing client down time to minutes. Major client, BellSouth, wanted better response time to prevent communication interruptions. Headed team to develop “deployed assets,” a remote inventory site. Established protocol for each site accessible only by BellSouth personnel. Completed inventory setup at all locations in 90 days. Reduced client downtime significantly.

US Marine Corps. Multiple Commands; Japan, Hawaii, Panama, U.S.

Repairable Management Division Chief, Aviation Supply, Promoted on regular basis to positions of increased responsibilities. Directed up to 400 personnel and $40M budget. Oversaw inventory management of $285M in high tech, top secret assets. Trained personnel in all phases of aviation supply/logistics.
