CAREER OBJECTIVE:

Seeking a management position in the area of Life Sciences/Molecular Biology to enhance my

Scope of work:

• Isolation and characterization of indigenous mosquitocidal strains of Bacillus

thuringiensis.

• Bioactivity studies against different insect vectors such as Aedes, Anopheles and Culex

and evaluated for commercial application.

• Molecular investigation on delta-endotoxins of novel Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis

strains to be used to control mosquito larvae as vectors of infectious human diseases. This

includes sequencing of cry genes and identification of Cry proteins by MALDI-TOF.

OVERSEAS RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

Worked for 4 months at “Cantonale Institute of Microbiology” (ICM), Mirasole 22A, 6500

Bellinzona, Switzerland under the supervision of PD Dr. Mauro Tonolla, Faculty of Science,

University of Geneva, Switzerland from 11th August 2011-4th December 2011.

This includes molecular typing of Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti) isolates, toxicity assays

on mosquito larvae as well as proteomic analysis of Crystal toxins. In the mean time involved in

an ongoing Bti project at ICM which is on “Fate of Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis (Bti)

applied as a biocontrol agent against mosquito larvae in the wetland reserve "Bolle di Magadini".

Worked also with Dr. Pie Mueller, Swiss tropical Institute, Basel, Switzerland.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
