SQL Operations DBA team is part of the PWC Group providing complete database related services. It is responsible for Install/Configure and administration/maintenance of all PricewaterhouseCoopers databases.


•Installation: Configured Microsoft SQL Servers

•.Creation of database, tables, stored procedure, logins/users and user access management as per client standards.

•Implementing high availability techniques like replication and always on.

•Capacity Planning – Performing capacity planning to ensure disk will have sufficient storage for a specific period of time say about six months to 1 year.

•Migrating data to SQL 2016/2014 from SQL server 2008/2008 R2

•Backup all databases using third party netbackup tool

•Maintenance - Perform database maintenance on a weekly basis tasks such as Update statistics, re-org, rebuild etc.

The SQL Server DBA team provides Development Support, Production and Maintenance services to American Express. The project involves the full range of database services like data placement and reuse strategy, physical database design, sizing of databases, creation of databases, backup and recovery strategy, database monitoring and performance optimization. The team will be involved in conducting meetings with the business to understand their requirements. Further to these meetings, the team will come up with the physical database design. Subsequently, the design will be implemented through the creation of the database on the production environment. The team is also involved in enhancements to applications that already exist in production. TCS executes this project in an onsite-offshore model.
