As a GIS Technician II, I was responsible for GIS and web support for the Redlands Institute. I worked closely with other members of the Redlands Institute in developing cartographic products for the various GIS projects. I also provided graphic development and technical support for the Redlands Institute website and Intranet site. I have designed several graphic products for the Institute including posters and report covers. I played a major roll in the Children and Families of San Bernardino County (First Five) Project, providing cartographic and GIS analysis support. At GIS Technology, I tested software for release (GIS value-added software). I reported software bugs to the programmers and helped them isolate them. I designed a testing procedure for testing the software under various conditions. I wrote help files for our software using RoboHelp and Photoshop. I created maps for clients and demos for our products for use at trade shows and client presentations. I designed CD labels, inserts, flyers and advertising. I maintained our company web site (www.gistech.com). I provided technical support to clients. I created a screen cam demo of our software using a number of software applications. I worked as an intern on the ArcView Release Team doing beta-testing for ArcView 3.0a and 3.1, and their extensions (released and unreleased) including 3-D Analyst, Business Analyst, Network Analyst, Street Map 1.0, Street Map 2000, Tracking Analyst, Image Analysis, Spatial Analyst, ArcPress, and others included in the core product. I learned to use these products thoroughly, creating new projects from a variety of sources as well as my own data (including a 3-D earthquake demonstration project). I helped with the year 2000 testing and documentation for the ArcView products. I learned to use the DDTS system for reporting bugs (I found more than 50 that were entered into the system). I helped teach new interns how to use the various systems.

At Clinical I researched, compiled, designed and wrote a comprehensive listing of all the tests done at the lab with their approved testing methods, preservation methods, sample bottle requirements and other information for use by the employees and customers. I wrote a training manual for use in log in and for performing the lab tests that were my responsibility. I trained new employees in these areas.
