Working with subject matter experts and the marketing team, we designed and developed certification training for allied healthcare professionals tasked with learning and using a new set of cardiac resynchronization ICD diagnostics for assessing and addressing patient heart failure in office or remotely. Worked with KDG Interactive.

Building SOFREGEN salesforce competency, we designed and developed materials describing the precise advantages of SERI surgical mesh, the typical surgical applications of this mesh for the cosmetic surgery community, and key advantages for gaining business with it. Worked with Learning Masters.

Senior Trainer for ICDs and CRT

New-hire and customer training for Biotronik ICD and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) feature sets, and “home monitoring.” Designed, developed, delivered, and supported international field force in international launch of the 2nd generation i-Series ICDs and collaborated on a special initiative to boost CRT sales through applications focused training on new implantation tools and on techniques for maximizing therapeutic efficacy. Also included were techniques for correctly interpreting patient heart failure status using ICD diagnostics.

Accelerated customer adoption of and fluency with Medtronic implantable devices by building customer competency (through ICD follow-up training and, for CRT, through implant training and follow-up training of operators) and by extending field relationships into the classroom. Achieved this working specifically with regional sales management in the South Central and Southeastern sales regions, primarily.


Designed and developed CRT education for customer skill development at Medtronic in the Southeastern US to propel regional sales leadership. Our regional education contributed to early adoption of CRT during its launch. Created sustainable local “training net” to ensure continuous support for top-tier implanters and clinicians learning left ventricular lead implant, CRT programming, and patient follow-up.

Partnered with company districts and regional leadership to retain the best available medical faculty expertise for customer training on coronary sinus cannulation and left-heart lead delivery. Highly credible, polished training provided confidence and inspiring outcomes to beginning CRT implanters. Training resulted also in production of an education CD-ROM on CRT implant that went worldwide.

Member of International cross-functional team including marketing, engineering, US and international training, for the successful launch and training initiative around PR Logic an algorithm for discriminating supra-ventricular tachycardias from lethal ventricular tachycardias. Sticky materials combined case review of technical product operation and sales benefits of the features, such that the approach was used for years for sales education.

Created in-house education capabilities to provide early practical, applied-skills learning for Medtronic ICD field salesforce. Expedited time to ICD sign-off for field sales force; developed an enhanced partnership between in-house education team and field education staff.

Spear-headed design, development and delivery of annual companion best practice peer-to-peer Allied Professional education events for physicians and nurse clinicians. Events received customer raves both in the Southeastern US and in the Midwest.

With Golle & Holmes Custom Education and with Medtronic, I led and conducted training gap analyses and corresponding curricular designs for Medtronic sales education (see awards), Burroughs Wellcome, Distribution Channel of Carrier HVAC, and Johnson & Johnson Board Level Management.

With Wilson Learning, I supported subsidiaries and agents in Europe in adapting, translating, and marketing Wilson’s products in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Italy.

With CPT Corporation I wrote award-winning customer technical manuals and subsequently supervised a team of writers in preparing a multi-chapter manual on the operation of one of the first “data switches” for linking word processors into a ‘star’ network with a shared mini-computer hub.
