Floor and Décor Computer Development Internship June 2017 - August 2017

Active MQ Monitoring with Java Console

Led project to determine how Floor and Décor store server queues could be monitored remotely versus from the corporate headquarters.

Developed a Java Program to determine computer resource usage.

Monitored the self-created Java Program using Java Console and Visual Virtual Machine (VM).

Secure Shell (SSH) into another computer to remotely monitor the physical resources the Java Program was utilizing.

Successfully identified a firewall preventing users from monitoring queues remotely.

Web Application Development

Enhanced local web application used for store purchase order details. Created a notification bar that allows the user quick access to other relevant information. The enhancements provided data that was previously accessed through manually written queries.

Optimized HTML and CSS structure to increase efficiency.

Integrated JavaScript to add more functionality.

Enhanced back end of Web Application by developing Java method to check purchase order calculations.

Achieved a more effective and dynamic implementation of Web Application and notification bar.

Point of Sales (POS) Development

Updated POS System to include e-Receipt button.

Used Java Swing to create graphical user interface (GUI).

Developed Java method to implement e-Receipt functionality.

Software Engineering Project January 2016 - May 2016

Worked in a team of four to develop a Java web app designed to sell books.

Used NetBeans’ IDE and JDBC (Java database connector) to code and manage database.

Made an executable JAR file for ease of distribution to class.

Computational Project (Java) August 2014 - December 2014

Developed a Java program to compute mathematical expressions with input based on strings.

Implementation consisted of parsing integer/double values, using logic gates to determine operands, and using the stack to compute the data.

Program was able to differentiate between incomplete, syntactically inaccurate, infix and postfix functions, and able to output the correct answer.

Website Design and Development Project (HTML) August 2014 - December 2014

Designed an HTML based site using CSS and basic PHP.

Responsible for site aesthetics including color, text font, scaling optimizations, and overall dimension layout.

Website hosted through google drive and incorporated graphical data, pictures, and was able to traverse hyperlinks flawlessly.
