Project 1:
Project Title: Redesigning of Memory Board used in OCB 283 Exchange.
Project Period: 28-12-2011 to 21-04-2012.
Project Location: ITI Limited, Palakkad.
Project Background: The OCB-283 Telephone Exchange, which is the latest one, makes use of Motorola 68000 series processors as the main processor.lt has a very high speed of switching and OCB-283 supports a variety of communication needs likebasic telephony, ISDN, Mobile Communication, Data Communication, Intelligent Networks etc. Such large digital switching exchanges are one of the main products of the public sector called ITI(Indian Telephone Industry) and ITI has been responsible for the nationalized patronage of OCB 283 exchange. With all the hi-tech services that could be integrated by a single exchange, the need for better and more efficient memory card surfaced.
Project Summary: This project attempts to find an alternative to the present obsolete memory section of the memory card ACMCS. The new memory card is tested through EPP by using an interface circuit for proper functioning and steps were taken to correct the possible errors in the new system.32 DRAMs in the ACMCS board can be replaced with a new IC module which is a 4M*32 DRAM memory module. lf any fault occurs in the board the entire board need not be replaced as in the case of previous memory board. ln the case of redesigned memory module, only the RAM strip has to be serviced.

This project is an implementation of Portable Ozone Generator. The technology implemented in this system is corona discharge for the generation of ozone. Ozone,one of the most active, readily available oxidizing agent can replace all other chemical oxidants and can be generated on-site

Summary: Claytronics is an abstract future concept that combines nano-scale robotics and computer science to create individual nanometer-scale computers called Claytronic atoms, or catoms, which can interact with each other to form tangible 3-D objects that a user can interact with. 3D fax machine, an important application, exploits inter-module communication and computation without requiring self-reconfiguration. This idea is more broadly referred to as programmable matter. Claytronics is a technology which can serve as the means of implementing a new communication medium, "Pario".Thus Claytronics has the potential to greatly affect many areas of daily life such as telecommunication, human-computer interfaces & entertainment.
