Cabela’s Inc. is now moving to a multi-channel operating model to support their 2010 vision and incorporate industry best practices in how they plan and forecast their merchandise and manage their inventory. Current practices are optimal for running a catalog company, but need to be changed to support a growing retail business. Current technology cannot scale to support planned growth, their custom code is high maintenance in terms of both manpower/cost and retail is not able to use best practices in currently installed software.
This project is the upgrade of JDA MMS latest version to use MCT. Part of this project includes the selection of a new inventory accounting and financial system. As a result of this change in system, Cabela’s has the opportunity to improve their inventory accounting methods.
