Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years of Controller responsibility experience, 5+ years of QBO, Unanet and Microsoft Business Central experience desired.

Education Level: Bachelors degree in Accounting (Preferred), Finance or related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training and/or work experience.

Position Description: Position requires an energetic Controller with knowledge and experience working for medium sized company. This person will be responsible for providing management of our clients accounting operations to include Payroll, AP, AR, lead monthly closing process and issue timely project reports and financial statements. This is a hands-on Controller role that will require not only the ability to lead accounting staff but serve as a primary person carrying out daily transactional duties.

The Controller will report to both the clients Senior Leadership and our CFO Advisory Services Managing Partner. You will provide oversight of compliance activities to include external audits and manage outside relationships with financial institutions, CPA firm, and government contracting authorities.

Position Responsibilities:

Oversee and perform all transaction processing functions to include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable (invoicing/collections), Payroll/Taxes/Benefits, account reconciliations, and manage the general ledger

Manage and perform monthly financial close process including account variance analysis, account reconciliations, preparing adjusting journal entries (Deferrals/Accruals)

Responsible for the preparation, reconciliation, and validation of all record of accounts that affect the financial statements

Perform all financial reporting activities to include review, verify and ensure proper accounting and accuracy for financial statements, issue timely (monthly) and complete program/project reports, monthly financial statements and other financial reports as directed by Senior Management

Manage operations of the accounting and finance functions, to include control systems, transaction processing operations, and policies and procedures

Manage and perform all cash management responsibilities to include providing Senior Leadership with regular updates on cash position and forecasts

Responsible for managing financial systems to include accounting structure, financial reporting structure,

Lead month-end and year-end closeout tasks related to project accounting, contract costs, and revenue

Assist Senior Leadership with annual planning activities; manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts; analyze and calculate budget to actual variance (monthly) and report findings to Senior Leadership, perform financial analysis as directed by management

Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics as directed by management

Support RFP pricing activities by providing cost and financial information and provide supporting analysis as requested

Lead developing and implementing Company accounting policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating in the Controller position

Strong knowledge and experience applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations helpful

5+ years of QBO and ERP software a must.

Strong knowledge of payroll, company benefits (insurance, 401k, taxes)

In-depth experience with full-cycle accounting government contracting experience helpful

Thorough understanding of financial statements, budgeting and forecasting

Must be deadline-driven, fast-paced, organized, and detail-oriented

Excellent knowledge of MS Office. Expert knowledge and experience with Excel.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

Self-Motivated Team Player but able to work independently

A can-do attitude, with a team focus and the willingness and ability to switch gears as priorities may change.
