Ingenious Inc, Houston, Texas – Process/Process Safety Engineer (June 2011-Present)

•Conducted Plant walk down’s for the client to update 250 + as built P&ID’s for Carbon Black Process.

•Knowledgeable about client’s Plant Operation, Piping and Instrumentation standards, Cad standards & Safety norms.

•Updated line designation, equipment, instrument loops as per engineering standards & performed engineering checks for smart P&ID’s.

•Updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to define the operating phases, consequences and response to deviations, emergency startup and shut down procedures for safe plant activities.

•Developed Piping Isometrics for PSV’s as per the field and performed inlet/outlet sizing calculations in consistence with API.

•Contributing member for PHA facilitation team to provide recommendations, attend management review meetings, perform safety audits and generate action items to the allocated personnel.

•Responsible for developing and updating MOC’s documentation, Process Safety Information (PSI) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) binders.

Nerolac Paints, India- Summer Intern (Nov2006-Dec 2006)

•Involved in research activities for optimizing the existing resin and paint processes as per the client’s feedback.

•Dealt with the overall process and operation of the paint industry along with the unit operation equipments like distillation columns, mixers and scrubbers

•Performed sample testing at different time intervals to check the quality of the product and recording its activities.

GRADUATE COURSE PROJECTS.

•Profit maximization of “ketene manufacturing from acetone” by using ASPEN PLUS .

•Performed”Tuning of PID controllers” using HYSYS and studied their performance for different values of tuning parameters.

•Steady state and dynamic simulation of ethanol plant using HYSYS as a simulation package.

•Worked on “Alarm rationalization” project on DCS for individual controller tags, setting up the alarm priorities according to its significance and testing its effect on the process.
