Project Title : ARCGIS SERVER MOBILE GIS –REAL TIME APPLICATION

ADF, Microsoft .Net Compact Framework 2.0, Windows Mobile Device Center

Project Description: To develop Mobile GIS application to enable the field viewing with general navigational functionalities, to perform selection queries on the GIS & final deployment to device emulator.

PROGRAMMING WORK DONE:

Developed Field viewing application using ArcGIS Server Mobile ADF controls with .Net compact Framework 2.0.

Publishing the ArcGIS Server Map Services – The Mobile MXD authored using ArcGIS Desktop has been published as ArcGIS Server Mobile Map Web Service using ArcGIS Server Manager or ArcCatalog & the same has been consumed in Mobile Map control with the help of below mobile map cache.

Mobile Cache Generation – The Mobile Cache has been generated with the above published map service using Generate mobile Cache tool in ArcCatalog.

Custom Identify Tool

Developed Custom identify tool using the Mobile ADF libraries to provide the attribute information in Message dialog wherever the user clicks on the Mobile Map.

X, Y Coordinates Tab

Developed a custom tab which displays the X, Y coordinates information wherever the user clicks on the Mobile map. Mobile ADF libraries are used for programming.

Custom TOC control/Selection Layers Menu

Developed Custom Mobile TOC control using Mobile ADF libraries & Compact framework treeview control. Layers from Mobile Map service will be listed in the control & can be enabled or disabled. Separate Menu has been created to select the layers for performing the below selection queries.

SELECTION QUERIES MODULES

Custom Spatial Queries

Developed Custom spatial queries using ArcGIS Server Mobile ADF libraries to select the features based on below options &finally highlight the selected features in the map & to display the attribute information for the selected featured in grid view control.

Spatial Selection options provided are

Select by Point - User selects the features based on the point click. The features intersected with click location will be selected, highlighted in the map & displays the related attribute details in the grid view control present in the adjacent tab.

Select by Rectangle – Uses selects the features based on dragging the rectangle for user defined extent on the map. The features intersected with the rectangle will be selected, highlighted in the map & displays the related attribute details in the grid view control present in the adjacent tab

Select by Polygon - Uses selects the features based on dragging the polygon for user defined extent on the map. The features intersected with the polygon will be selected, highlighted in the map & displays the related attribute details in the grid view control present in the adjacent tab

Custom Attribute Queries

Designed & Developed Attribute query module for the selecting the features based on giving some attribute query criteria by the user. The selected features will be listed in the grid view control.

Grid View Feature Zooming:

The individual features listed in the grid view are can be selected through double click & zoomed/Highlighted/flashed in the map.

Mobile Deployment to Windows Mobile 6 Professional Emulator

Deployed the developed mobile application along with

ArcGIS Mobile Runtime file (Cab File) which contain ArcGIS Mobile Runtime Libraries

Mobile Cache for the Mobile Map Web Service

DESKTOP ARCOBJECTS PROGRAMMING:

Desktop ArcObjects Programming for extending the ArcGIS desktop by creating Custom Tools & Custom commands, toolbars & standalone desktop windows GIS application.
