Academic Project details:

Written white papers on “Natco Vs Bayer” regarding compulsory license, “Utility patents”, “Patentability of Biologics” and “Wochkart Vs Roche” regarding post grant opposition and New amendments of the Copy Right Act, 2012, India.

1. Landscaping project on the technology “Microencapsulation”.

2. Patent portfolio project on “Glenmark” .

3. Independent study on “Practical difficulties in moving the Recombinant Vaccines through FDA regulations.”

Conducted at: AIBN at University Of Queens land

Guidance: Dr. Evan B. Siegel, President and CEO, Ground Zero Pharmaceuticals Inc, New York.

Project details: The focus of this management study was to analyze the shortcomings in the approval procedures for recombinant vaccines (targeted for the US market) by the FDA. The loopholes were thoroughly examined and solutions were suggested as to how the process could be speeded up. The solution suggested easier procedures and less expensive methods with a focus on quicker time to market.

Result: The findings of the literature review opens solutions to many problems which help drug companies to launch their drugs to the market in a much lesser time with hassel free/error free documentational procedures.

4. Analysis of Poly (D, L-lactic acid-co-glycolic acid) / Hydroxyapatite porous composites for bone tissue engineering.

Conducted at: AIBN at University Of Queens land

Guidance: Prof. Justin Cooper-White.

Project details: Three types of highly porous poly (D, L-Lactic–co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) / hydroxyapatite (HA) composite scaffolds were synthesized with a thermally induced phase separation (TIPS) method of different cooling regimes. DNA assay, X-ray diffraction, Mechanical strength and electron microscopy analysis were performed to study and deduce conclusions on the incubation periods, compressive modulus and the high porous structure of the three types of scaffolds.

Result: Synthesized PLGA (HA) composite scaffolds showed the high porous structure with good dispersion of hydroxyapatite on the surface under scanning elctron microscope. The second type of PLGA (HA) scaffold showed the highest mechanical strength and showed characteristics of a good scaffold in the field of bone tissue engineering.

5. Analysis of Butyl carbamate using HPLC method.

Conducted at: Biocon Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, INDIA.
