Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
I currently serve as a Warehouseman/Material Handler performing the handling, examining, and identifying of ammunition and explosives to detect defects, serviceability, deterioration, compliance, etc. Skilled ability to package pellet explosives in a cardboard/wooden box in heat sealing packages and sealing the box with adhesive tape and metal band strappings, properly labeling each box with proper explosive label rating, palletize, inspected, and ready to be shipped. I utilize my knowledge and skilled capability to handle, identify, and examine stored ammunition and explosives to determine true condition, deterioration trends, and non-standard and hazardous methods of storage. Putting data in the computer, taking each department their materials and loading and unloading truck. Working knowledge and skilled ability to investigate and reconcile routine and recurring discrepancies relating to condition coding of ammunition Working knowledge and understanding of ammunition and explosives; and established State, Federal and local policies, and procedures pertaining to the handling, examining, and identifying of products. I utilize my knowledge and skilled capability to handle, identify, and examine ammunition and explosives items, components, storage areas, and transportation conveyances to detect defects, serviceability, and deterioration; and assures compliance with directions and regulations.
Working knowledge and expert ability to comprehend and interpret departmental and company guidelines and manuals to research of specific requirements. I utilize my knowledge and skilled capability to handle, identify, and visually examine vehicles prior to loading to determine if the vehicle is suitable for transportation of hazardous materials and ensure that the correct ammunition has been issued and is properly packaged, marked and labeled, and in compliance with directives and regulations. Skilled ability to identify and ensure ammunition compatibility criteria in order to ensure that ammunition is stored with like type items. Expert knowledge of ammunition storage and the physical security requirements to ensure ammunition is secure at all times. I utilize knowledgeable capabilities to properly condition codes ammunition and completes appropriate documentation of ammunition transfer records, condition reports, etc. I assure all associated reports are completed. Visually examine and test lightening protection systems by performing electrical tests and records findings to assure proper documentation
I completed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training and certification program for Powered Industrial Truck and l Fork Lift operators meeting the Federal OSHA Standards. I assures the load is compatible and properly blocked and braced for transportation and that all hazardous material manifests, firefighting instructions, vehicle inspection reports, and issue documentation has been properly prepared. I control, monitor feed production through the computer center and collect feed samples in accordance with sampling plan I have the knowledge and skill to calculate and measure proportions, percentages and volumes. I have the skilled ability operating electrical, diesel, or gasoline-powered forklift from 4,000 to 25,000-pound, stake bed trucks, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, manual dollies, electronic jacks, and pallet manipulators. I utilize my knowledge and skilled capability to take the appropriate action to return ammunition to a serviceable condition and properly packages unserviceable ammunition for storage. Utilizing my knowledge and expert capabilities I perform damage-in-transit, periodic, receipt, and visual examination of ammunition received to determine the true condition. I determines causes of ammunition un-serviceability and takes appropriate action when ammunition deterioration is found to be other than “fair wear and tear”. I maintain the skilled ability to apply visual examination criteria that requires resolving differences, researching complex requirements, and determining reasons for discrepancies. My secondary duties include the receipt, storage, packing, issue, and transfer of ammunition and explosive items. Completes the proper and required documentation of ammunition transfer records, surveillance records, ammunition condition reports, quality deficiency reports, magazine data cards and numerous other documentation and/or reports Knowledge and skill to perform a varying sequence of ammunition storage facility visual examinations that may involve new or changing situations and/or deviations from established procedures. Knowledge of commercial requirements for transportation of hazardous material and ammunition packing criteria to ensure that ammunition is stored and/or transported in a safe manner. Ability to maintain effective relationships with officials both within and outside the company. Independently make decisions and judgment applying procedures to situations not covered by standardized procedures. Served as a Packer/Line Operator- responsible for pouring hot melt highway marking lines in a 9x12 box off a conveyor belt line, once material has cooled material is taken off conveyor belt line by hand and palletized on a pallet, properly labeled, inspected, shrink wrapped and ready to be shipped to the Department Of Transportation. Selects appropriate shipping container by size and type of equipment to be shipped and initiates request for appropriate size(s) if not available; selects appropriate protective wrapping and cushioning materials as wadding, foam, and rubber bonded hair. Stencils each box or carton with correct information, determines weight and cube of each container.
