Hollywood Portfolio is an entrepreneur-oriented consulting company focused on assisting early stage ventures start up, develop, manage and grow their businesses. As part of his role with the company, Bruce has worked with several small businesses on strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting, preparation and diligence for financing transactions (including public and private transactions), investor relations, operations, cash management, accounting, financial reporting, human resources, information systems and technology, business development, strategic alliances, tax planning and compliance, as well as other matters. Some key clients were:

(1) A technology company that delivers movies on flash drives that are being played in some of the newest automobiles;

(2) A private company that developed alternative rock music for a USA television show and subsequently delivered it online;

(3) A private artificial intelligence company that created a mobile app that serves as a personal organizer for tech people, and

(4) A private dome manufacturing / distribution company for augmented reality / virtual reality digital media shows.

Vice President of Finance March 2004 to April 2013

99¢ Only Stores Commerce, California

Initially, Bruce served as a lead Sarbanes-Oxley implementation consultant at the 99¢ Only Stores’ corporate office. In Fall 2005, he was hired by the new CFO to help manage the accounting team in a major closing and SEC filings project, where the Company changed its fiscal year to a retail calendar ending on January 31st, then filed four (4) Form 10-Qs and a Form 10-K. Once these SEC filings were completed, Bruce was promoted to Vice President of Finance, one of roughly 20 corporate officer positions at the Company, where he served for nearly seven years and ultimately oversaw the entire Finance and Accounting team of 40 to 60 people, including all of the directors, managers, supervisors and staff. As part of his senior management responsibilities, Bruce oversaw each of these departments: (1) Financial Reporting / SEC Reporting, (2) Corporate Accounting, (3) Investment Management, (4) Sales Audit, (5) Accounts Payable, (6) Payroll, (7) Bargain Wholesale Accounting, and (8) Internal Audit (planning and administrative responsibility).

With Bruce’s guidance, 99¢ installed a new Epicor Sales Audit system that dramatically improved the store revenue monitoring and the Sales Audit functions, which also helped reduce staff. 99¢ also completed multiple upgrades of its Lawson accounting system as new software versions were delivered, developed and tested. During the Company’s going private transaction off of the NYSE, Bruce served on the Executive Committee while planning and managing various parts of the $1.7 billion transaction, which closed in January 2012. Thereafter, he continued in the VP of Finance role for nine months and ultimately was a consultant to the Company until April 2013.

Chief Financial Officer January 2003 to December 2003

The World Animation Channel, Inc. Los Angeles, California

(The World Animation Channel was a private children’s and family cable television network that planned to broadcast a wide range of international animated programming in the US television market.)

Developed the strategic plan, financial models, operating budget, capital structure and organizational structure for this start-up company. Conducted discussions with potential investors, as well as international content and distribution partners.

Formulated the acquisition strategy and deal structure for the attempted purchase of an existing cable television network with total debt/equity of approximately $50 million. Drafted letters of intent for the transaction and performed financial due diligence on the acquisition target.

Chief Financial Officer August 1999 to October 2002

SportsPrize Entertainment, Inc. Los Angeles, California

(SportsPrize Entertainment was a Los Angeles based, public sports-related games company that had a peak market capitalization of $180 million.)

Directed some operations and the financial functions for this company. Responsibilities included strategic planning, finance, investor relations, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, accounting, financial and SEC reporting, human resources, content acquisition and management, information technology, business development, strategic alliances and partnerships. Initially supervised a staff of six which grew to approximately 20 employees and consultants.

Negotiated agreements and/or oversaw relationships with media executives, sports and entertainment celebrities, computer manufacturers, software and technology firms, content and e-commerce partners, advertisers, landlords and other firms.

Chief Financial Officer September 1994 to May 1999

Hollywood Online Inc. / Subsequently Hollywood.com / Now Movietickets.com Santa Monica, California

(Hollywood Online was an entertainment-oriented digital media company that was successfully built up from a start-up stage and sold for $58 million in May 1999.)

Managed a broad range of operations and financial functions for this company including strategic planning, finance, investor relations, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, financial operations, information systems, human resources, tax planning and compliance, facilities and administration. Initially supervised a staff of two employees which grew to eight employees.

Actively involved in negotiating deals and the related agreements with several online companies, computer manufacturers, software and technology firms, content and e-commerce partners, advertisers, search engines and other firms.

Recruited or hired over 100 employees and consultants for this company. Directed all human resources functions including organizational development, compensation, employee benefits design, installation and administration, as well as performance evaluation through the Human Resources Manager.
