Operations Management

– Managed airlift and support operations for the on-time movement of more than 7,000 missions, 2,500 tons of cargo, and 6,500 passengers per year in the Pacific arena on both military and civilian aircraft, showing professional judgment and organizational skills with flexibility to manage multiple priorities

Continuous Improvement

This launched the base to #1 facility in Pacific Arena two years running (saved $150k annual at that base; $7.5M for Air Force worldwide)

– Another process change, using Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) saved 3 hours weekly (7.5% operational time)

– A process redesign at Avnet increased throughput of that operation by 800%

– A cycle type improvement of standardizing the monitoring and controlling of the airflow into a furnace saved an annualized $1.5M in the first three months by using less fuel and decreasing process cycle time

– Achieved Six Sigma Green Belt

Quality Assurance

– Re-engineering products and processes using Lean ideology improved production processes and products. At Raytheon, eliminated a 6% defect rate and another at 4%, saving in excess of $300,000 on a program.

– Improvements at Avnet using Poka-yoke concept to measure, cut, and ensure wire lengths made the process 100% effective and made Avnet one of their customer’s first “dock-to-stock” supplier

Project Management

– Orchestrated and led a base’s grandest annual air show to date. Was only given 9 months, 150 personnel, and a $100,000 budget. Based on community turnout (15,000+) and concessions ($200,000+), this was the most successful air show the base had ever conducted Professional Experience (Note: I have been continuously employed since graduating from the Air Force Academy, first in the Air Force, then in civilian corporations.
