I worked within the scope of my training and duties as assigned by both the crisis center manager, nurse manager and psychiatrist. I worked closely with clients/family, staff, state and local hospitals for optimal client's care, safety and policy compliance. Finally, I ensured appropriate medical admission criteria for all clients admitted to the crisis center to enhance safety.

I helped with biopsies, in the mammogram and CT departments. In MRI prepared patients for MRI procedure including sedating if claustrophobic. Helped in the radiotherapy clinic with consult and treatments of cancer patients. Followed up with patients by calling them over the phone, emailing or writing them to ensure compliance to treatment. Finally, took emergency calls for cases when assigned, necessary to cover radiology departments at night, weekends and holidays.

I worked as a patient care assistant on the med/surgical oncology unit assisted with the care of the patients on the unit. Upon graduation, I transitioned to registered nurse position with direct responsibility of daily patient load of 6-8 patients before, during and after chemotherapy and radiation treatments. My desire to advance caused me to move within the same hospital system to the extended care unit LTAC where I cared for critically ill patients on ventilator, peg tube and insulin drips. I also cared for patients with wound vac, managed their wounds as ordered by the physicians. Starting off here solidly prepared me to be an all-round nurse exposed to the different facets of nursing, the various nursing skills and management criteria.
