My role there as a medical assistant was to call the patients from the lobby into the back of the office

•

Than I proceed with the patient and tell them if they have anything heavy on them to please set it in the room that I will/was going to assign them

•

When they come back from dropping off there stuff I ask them to step on the scale so I can check there weight

•

After we go into the room and I ask them for their chief complaint than I write it into there chart, after I take the patients blood pressure and oxygen level and when it gives me a reading I write it into there chart, after i ask the patient if they are a diabetic or not

•

If the patient proceeds to tell me that they are a diabetic then I check the patients blood sugar and glucose level

•

When I get finished with the patient I thank them for allowing me to be there medical assistant than I tell them the doctors will be with them shortly

•

Than I leave the room and go back to my desk and write everything that I have in the patients chart into the computer than when I get finished I signed the progress note than I close the chart and face it face down by the patients door to let the doctor know that he/she is ready to be seen

•

Also my role there was front desk so I took calls from patients helping them with medications or other medical necessities and I also filed back charts and pulled charts as well throughout each visit.
