Work Experience:

Data Center/Level 1 Technician(4.5 yrs.),

Hardware installation in both production and staging environments (network equipment, servers, storage equipment). Basic knowledge of networking of connectivity (TCP/IP).

Rack, build, cable, and basic configuration of networking equipment (routers, switches, etc.). Install supportive hardware for all devices to be installed in cabinets on raised floors (e.g. SFP,GBIC’s).

Installing patch cable (4GB, 10GB, etc.), cable management, and cabling Ethernet/fiber optic cable to various HOPS. Labeling all devices and cables per client standards.

Monitor traffic through hardware checking LED’s. Identify hardware issues, troubleshoot, and replace components as needed.

Handled trouble tickets (STARS/ PADSMART) related to system maintenance and repair. Performed de-commissioning function of hardware as requested.

Familiar with both Cisco and Juniper routers.

Installation of cable trout’s, cabinet racks, secured cabinets to ladder racks as well as anchored to computer floors.

Ability to be on my feet throughout the shift.

Voice/Data Technician (19 yrs.)

Installation/termination of various cables (structured (25pr), horizontal (cat3-6a), fiber (unicam/opticam ST, SC, and LC), coax (RG6-59), etc.) at commercial/residential areas both ISP/OSP.

Programmed / troubleshot voice through the PBX terminal (Nortel Meridian 1), extended T1 circuits, direct lines, modems, and ISDN.

Provided programming/troubleshooting for network connectivity through our Cisco terminal (IP addresses, Subnets, VLAN’s, pinging, etc.).

Installed closet infrastructure (ironwork), assisted in the installation of the Meridian 1 system, wire wrap, and stitch.
