1) RCI® Bangalore (1.5 years) November 2017 to May 2019 Director Human Resources, Indian Subcontinent

(Reporting to Managing Director, Indian Subcontinent and Senior VP HR RCI Global, US) RCI® is a part of Wyndham Destinations (NYSE: WYND) and is the world’s first and largest timeshare exchange network with approximately 4,300 affiliated resorts worldwide. As part of the core executive leadership team, my role was to lead the Culture & transformational agenda to create a high performing team who were committed and engaged to bring customer delight. Half of the senior leadership had changed in a span of few months before I joined and my key focus was to assist in the culture shift and evolve from a high driven sales organization to an organization that was committed to customer service.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the culture agenda.

Lead contact centre transition to progress from a highly driven sales approach to customer delight and service excellence.

Review and redefine rewards and recognition programs to engage employees in customer service excellence.

Initiate several communication channels/ discussions to understand the ideas, challenges and resistance to prepare and adapt for required change.

Introduce programs and initiatives to drive agreed objectives to ensure engagement consistently.

Wyndham Worldwide was planning for a spin off in mid of 2018 where the culture and values of the new company ‘Wyndham Destinations’ were redefined. My responsibility was to lead this engagement of RCI India with the company’s new defined culture and values. 2) Marriott International (11 years)

As a member of the executive committee, I was responsible for developing and implementing strategies that deliver products and services to meet and exceed the needs of property talent.

Lead the Human Resources and Learning function from Talent acquisition, HR Operations, Compensation & Benefit management, Learning & Development, Employee engagement and all other areas of employee life cycle.

Lead the culture of embracing diversity and propagate inclusiveness. During the acquisition of Starwood hotels by Marriott International in 2016, I was the Change champion for Westin Gurgaon and Westin Sohna (erstwhile Starwood) to support this transition that led to various changes in our overall strategy especially human resources. During my tenure with Courtyard Marriott Mumbai, I lead the collective bargaining process. While union formation in certain states is a common phenomenon, my previous IR experience in Delhi and Mumbai helped me to guide my leadership and supervisory teams in other organisations to actively engage with front line staff and provide them with an encouraging environment where they feel valued and supported. This requires constant effort to see, hear and feel to understand workforce pulse and effectively engage with all to ensure we delivered what we promise: a great culture where everyone feels valued and supported.
