I am a Ugandan 34 years of age, in second year of Master’s in public health from Mountain of the Moon University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Adult and Community Education from Makerere University.

As of my appointment on different positions with different organizations, to begin with in ACODEV as a Project Manager SRH-U Kabarole,Kyenjojo and Kamwenge districts, Project Officer Community Engagement and Capacity Building implementing in Kyenjojo and Kasese Districts a USAID funded project called ABH, with Reach The Youth ( RTY) under SOCY project funded by USAID as a field officer as well as working with Kyenjojo District Farmers Association (KYEDFA) as a project Coordinator, Gender officer projects funded by CARE Uganda and aBi Trust.

Through working with different projects in different in different organizations in different positions it has availed me with a vast experience on how to handle and manage, coordinate and communicate effectively through organizational communication channels of communication.

Project: sexual and reproductive health umbrella project

Planning and coordination

Planned, coordinated the implementation of project activities

Project: improving gender relations among agricultural farmers:

Responsibilities

Building the organizational capacity and monitor the project activities and the work done by 120 change Agents in their respective communities

Spearheaded gender and advocacy activities in the organization.

Making monthly, quarterly and annual reports

delivered protection services for persons aggrieved such as orphans

Train, mentor and build capacity of Community Based Trainers (CBTs) Change Agents, VSLAs groups and couples in gender concerns, concepts, misconceptions, joint planning participation and sharing of benefits and ensure operationarization of the organizational Gender policy.

Sensitized on HIV/AIDS in VSLAs, communities and mainstreaming it into other organizational programs.

Made some referrals to other partners offered particular services that the organization never had for example referrals were made to a Baylor linkage officer Kyenjojo district.

Directed and guided Baylor staff members to where VSLA groups sit

Conducted an in house training of beneficiaries that is to say among agricultural farmers, education sector especially in UPE schools using house hold model.

Ensured that groups (gender activists groups, VSLA gender groups, parents groups at schools) adopt gender concerns, concepts, and misconceptions adhere to VSLA core principles, methodology and best practices.

Coordinated the Change Agents and the Community Based Trainers in the district to make monthly reports, to collect Data and submit them to the gender officer enters it in MIS and makes a monthly report.

Coordinated gender play writers, actors and conducting Radio Talk Shows on Gender issues on Life FM.

Worked in close consultation with the District Community Development Officer and Agricultural advisor to ensure promotion of gender relations among farmers in Kyenjojo District.

Participated in fundraising for the organization such as writing of proposal.

Documented key findings from the Community and shared with the Project Team on how to innovatively utilize the information to inform the project progress.
