Currently I am back in college while taking courses at Delaware County Community College my desire is to enter a different employment field than the beauty industry. I have been a hair stylist as well as front desk associate for the last 15 years and I deeply wanted a change as well as need a change! This past year I took some time off after a separation and focused mainly on school. However now I am more than ready to get back out into the everyday hustle and bustle and start somewhere different, unknown, and challenging to really apply my skill set in an environment and field I can flourish and prosper.
I have worked my entire career as salon receptionist/Manager- full time before I started doing hair and continued to on and off as needed once I was styling hair. I am extremely experienced with booking appointments, time managing employees and clients/patients alike. I am experienced with inventory and month to month finance budgeting. Payroll, as well as QuickBooks. Presentations throughout the salon and neighboring salons on productivity, product knowledge, employee training classes etc. I am a fast learner who works wonderfully with people and a great team player. I believe a positive attitude can completely change one's outlook and perspective and I am always trying to see the better or best in people as well as situations.
Most if not all of my experience comes from working reception and customer service. I am extremely experienced with working with the public whether face to face, over the phone, or virtually. I am very approachable and clients/customers almost always take a liking to me. I ask a lot of questions and have excellent attention to detail that really sets me apart from other employees.
I am a fast learner who won’t stop until I completely understand what the task at hand needs to be achieved. I am genuinely a hard worker with a work ethic that isn’t as common to find in every individual you meet these days. Taking the leap to restart my career in a completely different field was a huge challenge for me. I live by the quote “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard”. Nothing great will ever be achieved if not for hard work. Although prior to achievement things may seem unbearable, or unreachable, and that’s when your hardest grit needs to be utilized. Pushing through those fears and self-doubt is key and honestly how I managed through any and all times and experiences in life that tested my abilities whether academically, or mentally, emotionally, or physically in general in life. I believe and know deep down in my core that I have so much more to offer in a new industry and career path.
