I am a creative and talented writer, editor, game designer and narrative designer with over ten years’ experience in games and online media. I have experience with creating communications material, writing high quality content, process analysis, creating social media campaigns, conducting interviews, producing user guides, and writing about all sorts of topics. I have strong team leadership skills and a good eye for detail. I have also acted as creative director on a successful game, from concept to release.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

TORN CITY 2016 to 2024

Writer, editor and designer

I recently finished a contract for Torn.com, a well-established text-based MMORPG. In the past I managed my own team of writers. As a narrative designer, I researched and wrote the text for a set of twelve ‘Crimes’ that players can commit, creating thousands of outcomes. I work with the design lead and stakeholder to create game stories, and I research and submit design ideas for in-game items. These are currently being released, and so far they have been extremely popular with our playerbase. I also edit for other writers.

At Christmas time (2017 to 2022), I worked on our enormous open world map, Christmas Town, which allows players to explore a beautifully created snowy world. This includes extensive art direction. I also provide player support during the Christmas Town event. This role requires a lot of managing deliverables such as guides, research documents and blocks of writing. Excellent communication is an essential part of my job.
