Army Food Service Specialist

* Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook food for military personnel in both field and garrison settings. Ensure that all food is

prepared according to established standards.

© Supervision: Oversee and supervise small unit food service activities to ensure efficient operations. Train and mentor junior personnel.

* Facility Management: Manage the food service operation of medium to medium-large food service facilities. Ensure that all aspects of

the operation run smoothly, including inventory management, hygiene, and quality control.

© Personnel Development: Hold First Sergeants’ or Sergeants' Major calls to announce important information and instructions. Instruct

newly assigned enlisted personnel in military courtesy, customs of the service, and command regulations or policies.

Counseling and Guidance: Provide counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel within the command. Address any

concerns and provide mentorship.

* Performance Evaluation: Inspect duties performed by subordinate NCOs, note any discrepancies, and initiate appropriate corrective

actions as necessary.

* Visitor Reception: Assist in the reception of visitors to the command, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment.

* Promotion Board Participation: Sit as the president or a member of command promotion boards for NCOs, as authorized by regulations.

* Additional Duties: Perform other duties as prescribed by the commander to support the efficient functioning of the command.
