Project Description: The ICE Risk Management Application is an Oracle database supporting margin rate calculation and position monitoring for EU, US, Canada and Singapore Clearing function. It processes multiple data feeds from the Exchange and Clearing systems using various methods, e.g. file loaders, direct database-to-database connection, PL/SQL procedures. It has two major sub-components: Overnight computes various sets of statistics for SPAN parameter generation, back testing and stress testing based on daily settlement prices and positions. Intraday system monitors changes to total margin due to position and price movements during the trading day. Comparisons are made with collateral held in Clearing for all members and warnings generated when a margin call is imminent.

It was required for JC Penney to migrate data from existing legacy system to the new MANUGISTICS application to generate forecasts. Data was extracted from the Mainframe DB2 system and flat files using ETL tool. The MANUGISTICS application generates forecasts based on the input data received from the Mainframe system. This forecast data is migrated back to the Mainframe system to be used for reorder of items.
