Cover Letter
Thank you for taking the time to look over my resume. When I wasn’t employed by the companies listed
above I free lanced with cabling, technology and backhoe jobs. Also I recently flipped a house, sold it and
am looking for my next one.
Recently I have worked in sales as a Lead Generator, building low voltage control racks for wireless
internet towers and as an E911 install technician using unified communication technologies along with
my telecom and management experience.
During my time with Sparrow I was responsible for everything the Telecom department does for an 1800
telephone campus. My responsibilities were for all day to day operations of the office on my campus
which included ACD, call processing, help desk and walk in customer service, technical training for both
individual one on one and whole department groups, along with normal every day field duties. I was also
responsible for 10 remote sites that had Norstar key systems. As part of my duties I was the lead on small
to medium IT projects that involved Telecom along with some large Telecom projects. On these projects I
coordinated efforts with other department’s sources such as Engineering, Security, Shipping and
Receiving, Environmental Services and vendor services like construction, electrical, plumbing, cabling,
painting, furniture, and flooring. I worked with clinical departments to ensure proper patient flow and
protocols. I was also the point person for cell phone responsibilities at my campus working with the
corporate account with Verizon wireless.
During my time spent in telephone contracting I held management titles such as lead tech, foreman,
supervisor, manager, and engineer. I have worked as a cabler splicer, installer, trouble shooter and
construction in outside plant and a cabler and PBX/key system tech inside.
I like the idea of a position that does a little bit of everything. I have always been a hands-on type of
person and have collected a wide variety of skills over the years because of it. I came out of high school
as a welder. I worked in telephone construction and learned how to operate heavy equipment. I have lived
and worked on a dairy farm and I do all of my own home projects, which I seem to have at least one
going all of the time. I can do everything from minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical to installing
computers and maintaining the telephone system. I own ( and work on) a backhoe.
I was also a self-proprietor. As the only person working a company I was the office person, sales, bidder,
hands-on worker, marketer, and chief bottle washer. Anything that I did not do did not get done.
I have 18 certifications for telecom and computer classes and attended a number of classes that did not
give out certifications while working for GTE. I have completed my classwork for A+ Essentials, A+
Practical Applications and Network +.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
