Primary responsibilities revolve around the Database and Project Management, performing the responsibilities of application architect, database architect, DBA and project manager depending on the needs of the particular client. Insuring the project is on track and the destination is clearly defined and understood. Most projects were either data warehousing, or web projects with a few data conversion projects in the mix. On most projects I am the primary liaison between project stake holders and the development team. RDBMS used on the projects primarily include MS-SQL, Oracle, My-Sql, Postgres. But sometimes DB2, Sybase and Teradata were used. I primarily function as the DBA designing databases, capacity planning, hardware architecture planning, setup of automated backup and verification methods, perform 3rd level database support, setup system monitoring processes, optimize queries or processes, create stored procedures, indexes, constraints, cursors, triggers, views, backup scripts, configure database for replication, setup enterprise fail over functionality, document database design and schemas, organized meta-data, database designs include both OLTP and OLAP, assisted clients in identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI), created dynamic digital dashboards using Flash components and other commercial tools.

Wrote EDI routines for modifying incoming eligibility data to Ez-Cap needs. Created automated reconciliation processes between Ez-Cap data and external systems.

Web development experience started out with ASP, PHP with Flash and Flex. Flash and Flex provide a very rich user interface that other tools can’t. Information is usually rendered by passing XML data to Flash components for web based digital dashboards for data warehouse projects.

Worked on loan origination and financial systems creating data validation systems, financial reports and interfaces. Extracted info to create combined views of information from different databases displaying the resulting reports from a browser independent web interface.

Documented work by writing proposals, technical specifications, UML diagrams, ER-Diagrams using ErWin, ErStudio and Visio when that was all that was available. Frequently train more junior staff along with explaining the documents. Most projects were conducted using the Agile/Scrum development model but some used Waterfall.
