• Analysed streamflow data collected from five different river basins over the past 72 years to identify peak flows in study area.

• Developed a method combining peak over threshold and Gumbell distribution to predict the return period of flood and its season of occurrence using univariate analysis.

• Significantly improved model predictions by changing univariate analysis with multivariate analysis.

• Quantified the dependence of calculated flood season and ENSO (El Niño-Southern Oscillation) cycle.

• Used Archimedean copula to find return period of floods by considering hydro-meteorological factors such as duration and volume of floods. Software Used: Matlab, R, ArcMap, Microsoft Excel. ACADEMIC PROJECTS

• Designed water supply system for Tampa Bay, FL

o Designed a model for water extraction and distribution system for Tampa Bay region, Florida using Excel considering supply, demand and quality restrictions.

o Analysed flow properties of water in links and at nodes of a regional water distribution network using EPA-NET.

• Identifying flood-prone areas that require new measures using ArcGIS o Determined areas that require immediate flood control measures in Mecklenburg County by analysing streams, soils, drainage basins, storm drains and elevation profile data.

• Used HEC-RAS in modelling the flow through open channels. o Determined the water depth and profile for a given open channel with bridges and culverts for a local storm water network. o Created and analysed 16 cross sections for analysis of 4 culverts in the open channel.

• Evaluating Dissolved Oxygen and Periphyton Standards at Bull Hide Creek o Used calibration data to build a working water quality model for Bull Hide Creek, Texas. o Analysed the effects of adding a wastewater treatment plant on the water quality of the stream. o Conducted a sensitivity analysis to recommend the data necessary to reduce model uncertainty.

• Calibrating and Validating SWAT model for Deep River and Haw River basins o Used ArcSWAT to perform watershed delineation and calibrating SWAT model parameters for Deep River. o Used the calibrated model to validate and forecast flows in Haw River basin. o Compared the performance of SWAT model in both cases.

• Used MINTEQ to find optimum pH for metal precipitation at a Tanning Facility in North Carolina. o Precipitation modelling of heavy metals using Visual MINTEQ software, in waters of Yamuna river near Delhi. COMPUTING EXPERIENCE
