Staff Engineer Project Manager 2013–2017

Managed Capitalized Project at a large Coal Burning Power Plant. Said projects were managed from the initial work scopes to budget approvals, Engineering Changes, Vendor bid packages through the Supply chain. The projects were then scheduled, managed, with time lines, safety and cost controls being maintained.

Reduced the cost of a common project done from $1.3 M to $ 800K by applying Lean methods to my project work

Worked with other Project Manager to assist in the success of the plant and the project

Trained in the use of SAP but I was not present for the roll-out of the software package when it was released

Left position due to plant being closed so that the coal burning and water issue could be resolved. The required power needs would now be made up with the use of wind mills. I chose to remain south rather then more north with the companies proposal.

The doctors will check me every 6 months to make sure that the cancer stays away. My last procedure was 9/18. The doctor reported to me that everything was fine.

Managed up to 30-40 engineered pump projects simultaneously where I Oversaw and managed projects for Utilities, Municipalities, Oil & Gas as well as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and Military applications. During the life of these project, I became Familiar with all special procedures such as coating, testing, packing, marking, shipping, etc., and the level of inspection required for each as it was stated in the customers specifications.

One of my larger projects was working with the Lake Mead Water Project where our pumps were chosen to successfully replace the old pumps which were installed.

Manufacturing Engineer -

Managed and successfully headed up the successful relocation of a 25,000 sq ft facility into factory using only 10,000 sq ft of space. This was a special challenge because the old shop barely used a computer, they did not know their costs and they did not have an existing part number system. My team and I came up with a Smart Part Number System, which gave visibility in what the part was by the number. We made sure that we could still fulfill the customers orders once the umbilical was finally broken with the old factory

Developed a pump performance test cell that reduced testing time from 1 hour to 15 minutes

Worked with both Solid Works and AutoCAD for the layout design for our new shop as well as product flow details. Also worked with the draftsmen to create proper engineering drawings so that we had something that we could monitor and control for our ISO audits.

Chosen to the transition team to assist upper management when Sulzer Pumps purchased Flow Products

Left this position so that I could accept what I thought was a great opportunity for my career. Instead I disliked CA. and questioned why people decide to live there
