Performs process and pipeline simulations, develops estimates and reviews work from external contractors. Reports to Sr. VP of Engineering.

Consulting Engineer

Consulting engineering company for the energy business. Worked as an advisor to the Nigerian state-owned oil company for a new gas plant project in Nigeria. Part of the work was performed in Houston, the rest in Dubai, The Emirates.

2014 – 2016

Exterran, Houston, TX

Lead Process Engineer (Staff Engineer)

Global natural gas operations and engineering company. Responsible for Process Engineering Discipline globally of Exterran’s Integrated Projects group. Primary focus on maintaining quality of all Process Engineering products, supervise and develop the Process Engineering team, as well as consulting on complex technical issues. Reported to Senior Engineering Manager.

Significant Contributions/Accomplishments:

Responsible engineer for technical specifications and procedures for the Process Engineering Discipline for Exterran’s Integrated Projects group. These were at best rudimentary at the time applicant started and began improving on known procedures, which were accepted as standards. Applicant also made and had accepted several inputs to revisions of Exterran’s global standards.

Direct supervisor of any Process Engineers in the Compression Plants and Early Phase plant engineering group.

Supervised, consulted and participated in conceptual, basic and detail engineering of two major compression plants and a significant number of proposals. Several of applicant’s contributions were crucial for both schedule, cost and safety of these plants.

Singlehandedly performed a relief, blowdown and flare network study of an existing sour gas plant that was undergoing revamping on time and significantly under budget. This exercise normally requires an entire team of process engineers.

Key contributor of the group’s current main product: a modularly designed small compression plant.

2010 - 2014

Aramco Services Company, Houston, TX (Saudi Aramco US Affiliate)

Principal Process Engineer (Engineer I)

Global Energy Company, world’s largest crude exporter. Applicant managed a wide range of services to assist Saudi Aramco in facilitating the safe and reliable delivery of energy products to a global market. Primary focus on solving complex technical issues and review of designs, projects and engineering work as performed by others in the department. Representation of company interests with peer companies, contractors, vendors and manufactures.

Significant Contributions/Accomplishments:

•Applicant added value as a technical consultant for a large number of contracts, including scope of work authoring, etc. These tasks incorporated both contracts from various Aramco entities, as well as the Saudi Oil Ministry.

•In addition to technical consulting to plants and projects; the applicant focused on technology identification/transfer, identification of candidates for Saudi based jobs. Several technologies/patents were reported to Saudi Aramco management for utilization and/or acquisition.

•Presented SAO’s Mobile Carbon Capture work at 12th Annual Conference on Carbon Capture Utilization & Sequestration.

•Aramco representative in GPA Section A, Facilities Design.

•Aramco representative in API task forces for Standards/RPs 520(I & II), 521, 526, 527 and 2000.

•Aramco board member in Gasification Technologies Council (GTC).

2007 - 2010

Fluor Corporation, Sugar Land, TX

Senior Specialty/Process Engineer

Engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance, and project management Services Company, applicant was working on Exxon-Mobil projects. Primary responsibilities were reviewing deliverables and plan work for the assigned projects as well as contributing to the ongoing design work, particularly for complex issues.

Significant Contributions/Accomplishments:

•Area manager, process water cleaning and re-injection for Exxon Neftegas’ Chayvo expansion during FEED and Detail Engineering, in charge of 2-3 process engineers. The engineering group received numerous positive citations both from Fluor and client management during the two years the project ran.

•Deputy process lead pre-FEED topside process development for Exxon Neftegas’ Arkutun Dagi platform during FEED. This successful project was a pilot exercise for Fluor as the topside experience was at that time very limited.

2006 - 2007

Washington Group International, Houston, TX

Senior Process Engineer/Specialist IV

Engineering, construction, and management services company providing integrated services with a focus on refinery processes, gas plants and power plants.

Significant Contributions/Accomplishments:

•Worked as area manager for a near zero emissions Gasification/Combined Cycle power plant pre-FEED, responsible for plant integration. Utilized modeling software for very complex integration work for this exercise.

•Worked with pre-FEED design for the NGL extraction part of a proposed ExxonMobil GTL plant, keeping all deliverables on time and under budget.

2002 - 2006

Linde BOC Process Plants LLC, Tulsa, OK

Senior Process Engineer/Senior Plant Engineer

Multi-discipline, fully integrated engineering, design, fabrication and construction firm, with focus specifically in the Process Design and Engineering aspects of the business. Primary responsibilities were development of PFDs, P&IDs, Process Calculations, Equipment lists, and other deliverables during the design stage as well as review of 3D design and pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and as-built documents.

Significant Contributions/Accomplishments:

•Lead Process/Systems Engineer for two US based Hydrogen plants (steam reformers) through detail design and module construction/pre-commissioning. This job included in practical terms the role of engineering manager.

•Commissioning and Start-Up Manager for a US based Gasoline Hydrogenation Plant. Successful turnover to client. This resulted in applicant being reorganized to the H2 business area, servicing the most selective clients.

•Lead process/systems Engineer for a US based Gasoline Hydrogenation plant during detail design and manufacture. All work was completed on schedule and under budget.

•Company representative for clients experiencing operational problems or equipment failures.

•Worked extensively with separation/simulation and flare and relief calculations during detail design of a Mexican NGL plant.

1992 - 2001

Statoil, Mongstad/Kårstø/Forus, Norway

Principal Process Engineer

Nine years engineering experience with the largest operator on the Norwegian continental shelf, with a primary focus on Refining and Gas Processing.

Significant Contributions/Accomplishments:

•Technical expert in conceptual design and simulation for business development of Statoil’s onshore gas plant strategy in the late 90s.

•Member of Statoil’s pool of HAZOP managers.

•Process lead NGL during FEED phase of Vestprosess Kollsnes/Mongstad integration project. This pilot project for Statoil was successfully put on stream, on time and under budget.

•Process Lead Engineer during Sleipner Vest onshore expansion detail engineering. Responsible for a team of engineers during commissioning.

•Spent remaining career in Statoil in a centralized Technology Division as a technical expert and/or supervisor.

•Started working for Statoil in 1992, at the Mongstad refinery. Promoted to Senior Process Engineer in 1995, Principal Process Engineer in 2000.

•Finalized Master Thesis at Statoil’s Kårstø plant in December 1991, the thesis was proposed by Statoil. The results are still in use.

EDUCATION
