Current Work:

Feb. 2017-now Polymeric and organic chemist in Princeton Global Synthesis

Multistep synthesis of various 6-tetrazole decahydroisoquinoline-3-carboxylic esters via Click reaction, Wittig Reaction, CBZ protection, Hydrolysis, DCC esterification and Pd/C reduction. Multi-step synthesis of 2,8-diazaspiro[4.5]decane-2,3-dicarboxylate derivative. Modification of apomorhpine; Oxidation of chiral compounds (N-O bond formation); The structure and purity were determined using 1H NMR and HPLC (HP 1010).

Current Project is Kulinkovich Reaction with BOC and DHP protection.

A novel route was developed to synthesize polynitrodopamine and its derivatives via protection of catechol by TBDMS group before nitration. In this way, the inhibition of catechol doesn’t affect the molecular weight of obtained polymers which was confirmed using GPC. The structures of polymers were confirmed using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, HSQC, HMBC, NOESY, IR.

Kinetic Study: The binding affinity of catechol derivatives to Fe3O4 nanoparticles and 4-fluorophenylboronic acid was compared by measure the difference of their binding constants using 1H NMR. It shows that the polynitrodopamine derivatives have 40 times stronger coating ability to Fe3O4 than polydopamine derivatives. In addition, the binding affinity of polynitrodopamine derivatives is 20 times stronger than polydomine derivatives at pH 6.5 toward 4-fluorophenylboronic acid.

Synthesized novel PVA-silane polymer which can form magnetic gel through Si-O-Fe bond coating on the surface of Fe3O4 (XRD, N2 Adsorption and Desorption, EM, TGA). The gel can be decomposed in boiling water. No leak of Fe3O4 and gel decomposition was observed after long standing.

We have successfully synthesized titanium-containing mesoporous silicate TiFDU-12 with face-centered cubic (fcc) structure. Styrene oxidation was also used as model reaction to test the catalytic performance of Ti-FDU-12.

A new asymmetric dihydroxylation method was developed by immobilized Osmium catalyst and (QN)2PHAL to ionic liquid porous powder silica Zeolites (SBA-15 (using P123 surfactant), BMMS (using CTAB surfactant) (XRD, N2 Adsorption and Desorption, EM, TGA)). The e.e values obtained though HPLC and polarimetry could be as high as 99%.The catalyst can be recycled for more than 5 times with constant e.e values.
