Mfg. Processes Introduction/Validation: Used Lean Enterprise/5S principles to establish stable processes including but not limited to glassblowing; induction heating of glass, metal, and plastics; resistive soldering, core winding. Designed necessary tooling.

Six Sigma/Black Belt: Used DOE’s to resolve production problems and optimize processes. Preformed internal audits including Quality Engineering for ISO9001 compliance. Performed audits on special processes such as ESD and welding.

Project Engineer: Used Microsoft Project to schedule and allocate resources.

New Product Design: Worked closely with Product Engineering on all new designs resulting being named on five patents. Used knowledge of high performance materials such as metals, epoxies, glass, ceramics, thermal set/thermoplastics, RTV elastomers, 0-ring materials, specialized coatings etc. to design components (rubber gaskets/seals, glass electrodes, cables), and complete sensors in response to customer needs.

Capital Equip. Introduction/Validation: Defined required specifications, prepared cost justification, reviewed multiple vendors, reviewed on site acceptance testing, and documented validation on multiple molds, ultrasonic welders, curing ovens, induction heaters, and test equipment.

Forensic Failure Analysis: Performed forensic failure analysis on internal, vendors, and external customers to provide corrective action and controls to prevent re-occurrence.

Lean Enterprise: Used the principles of Lean to improve layout reducing needed floor space from 5,000ft2 to 3,000ft2 and reduced lead times from two weeks to 24 hours.

Testing Program: Defined required equipment and methods for component and final product testing.

Supervisor-Technical 1982 to 1990

Established pH electrode manufacturing: Defined necessary equipment/methods for glassblowing operations. Justified capital equipment costs. Trained personal in glassblowing, solution prep., and other operations. Resulted in over $1 Million new business.

QIP Team Facilitator: Facilitated the Quality Improvement Process team to make improvements to the paperwork process.

Introduced 871A under JIT: The 871A was the first product introduced under JIT Methodology significantly reducing product lead times and WIP.

MRB member: As member of Material Review Board I worked directly with vendors to define and insure quality standards. Worked with vendors to resolve molding issues.

Method development: Defined and documented test and assembly processes. Changed encapsulation of TF sensors from epoxy to ceramic filled for major quality improvement.
