Hospice Care: I took care of my grandmother in her home, so she did not have to go to a skilled nursing facility. I worked with visiting nurses to learn how to help her practice her physical therapy exercises for the edema in her legs as she had Congestive heart failure. I changed dressings daily on leg wounds. Took care of her hygiene, shopping, meal preparation, prescription distribution and refills. She also had dementia, loss of bowel movement, Alzheimer's, and much more. The visiting nurses pushed me to go to school for medical assisting, but I am an administrative person. This is when they started to talk to me about coding as ICD-10-CM was going to be launched and because I was so precise it would probably be a good direction to go. So, I did and now I am finished with school, AHIMA certified, and desperately seeking employment.

About me:

I am, a highly capable, resourceful, detail-oriented, college graduate of 2017 who is actively seeking employment opportunities in the HIM Department. I am searching for a position to use the skill set I have gained from my education. From my point of view, secretaries, coders, billers, nurses, assistants, every medical employee are very important to the facility they work at. From a secretary or administrative point of view I keep my bosses informed about important things, take care of the schedule and represent a first line of contact for most guests. What is more, a good secretary should do their best to keep a positive and motivating atmosphere in the office-at least that is what I always try to do.
