SYNOPSIS
My name is Gary Hoover, and I would like to apply for the position of
Construction Super. I have been in the construction industry for over 25
years, working as a construction superintendent, general superintendent, and
construction company owner. I am also a licensed general contractor ( lic. #
472494) I have a great deal of experience in single family, multi-family,
apartment, condo, mid rise over podium, and tenant improvement. Working
as a superintendent, i have completed over 2500 units. I have also done a great
deal of hands on work in framing, foundations, plumbing, and electrical work.
As a construction company owner, I have experience in custom homes,
additions, remodels, apartment reconstruction, and rehab work. I am also a
designer and draftsman, and also do the gravity, lateral, and overturning
engineering for my designs, as well as doing engineering work for several
contractors who do their own designs. I also do part time engineering work
for MKD Construction and Engineering. I have many years experience with
off-site development. I am computer literate, and use such software as MS
project, Word 7, Excel, and Outlook. I also use structural programs such as
TJBeam, Forte, Beamchek, and Latcalc. I am also in the process of becoming
efficient with Chief Architect X4 cad software. As a contractor and a designer,
i am also very familiar with the Calif. Building Codes, the Calif. Energy code,
Cal. Green code, and the ASCE 7 as it applies to structural design. I have also
attended storm water pollution training work shops.
My last salary at Standard Pacific was $ 105,000 plus benefits, my salary at
John Laing Homes was $ 90,000 plus benefits. I would like to be in the mid to
high 60s if possible.
