Job Overview
As a Fleet Manager, your key responsibility is to coordinate and execute daily processes and activities involved in all aspects of fleet maintenance to ensure the efficient and safe operation of equipment.Office Hours
MonFri: 8 AM6 PM
Sat: 8 AM1/2 PM
You may also be on call outside of office hours, including weekends and holidays, to handle emergencies.
You must be available 24/7 in case of critical events.Core Functions & Responsibilities
Responsible for department performance, including profitability and efficiency.
Coordinate inspection, maintenance, and repair of fleet equipment.
Maintain vehicle files.
Monitor equipment damages and provide repair estimates in a timely manner.
Collaborate effectively with other operational departments.
Maintain fleet equipment warranties, PM schedules, and repair records.
Communicate with operations and dispatch teams regarding truck availability and downtime.
Assist the recruiting department in completing driver road tests.
Cultivate strong relationships with internal departments and drivers.
Monitor and consistently improve driver and fleet performance.
Create weekly and monthly fleet maintenance and efficiency reports.
Recommend equipment purchases and sales based on maintenance records and utilization.
Collaborate with the HR department to hire department staff and provide sufficient training.
Maintain operating facility in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
Create new policies, solve problems, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Ensure a professional work environment and maintain discipline within the department.
Enforce and recommend appropriate training and development programs for staff.
Maintain fleet equipment organization and order.
Enforce goals and targets within the department.

2+ years of shop management experience.
2+ years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic.
Understanding of the most common truck and trailer mechanical issues.
Advanced knowledge of Class 8 truck drivetrains and diagnostics, including electrical, hydraulic, and structural systems.
Professional attitude and team-oriented mindset.
Strong ability to follow and execute instructions.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to multitask efficiently.
High School Diploma or College Degree.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to assess, coach, and mentor drivers.
Class A Commercial Drivers License.
Must be able to pass a Pre-Trip Inspection.Benefits
